A new Mass Effect? Maybe, says BioWare's Casey Hudson

E'er since Mass Effect: Andromeda launched, the future of the franchise has been in peril. The game was panned by critics and consumers akin for its numerous bugs and other performance bug. Even EA refused to comment on when we would see another game in the franchise. All hereafter Mass Effect: Andromeda expansions were eventually cancelled and developer BioWare Montreal was disbanded.

Everyone assumed — what was only logical — that that was it for the Mass Effect franchise. However, it seems that aside from working on Dragon Age 4, BioWare is likewise developing some other Mass Effect championship.

In the "Mid-Summer Update" mail on BioWare's blog, General Manager Casey Hudson said, "we hear loud and clear the interest in BioWare doing more Dragon Historic period and Mass Effect, so residuum assured that we take some teams hidden away working on some secret stuff that I think you'll really like — we're simply non ready to talk about any of it for a niggling while."

Hopefully the next Mass Effect will be a polished experience this time around. Mass Consequence: Andromeda's semi-open up world layout pushed the franchise is a new direction, but its technical flaws were more noticeable than its improvements. In order to revitalize the Mass Event franchise, BioWare needs to brand sure the project is technically sound and tells a cohesive story.
